Before Judy Blume's Forever there was Beverly Cleary's Fifteen. Its set in a suburb of a West Coast city (probably San Francisco), which has all the advantages of a small town (. DJ shows light rubbing along edges and folds otherwise fine. The book also has a marvelous sense of place. Original DJ is bright and attractive with the original now-classic cover art. Green boards are bright and clean with four sharp corners. Pages lay flat and tight in seemingly unread condition. That said, these early copies of Fifteen are scarce especially in DJ and they are just about non-existent in collectible condition. So despite the title page and copyright page both stating 1956, this is a 1962 copy. Beverly Cleary's last published title referenced is Henry and the Clubhouse, published in 1962, six years after the first printing of Fifteen. The last title on the Books by Same Author page is Two Dog Biscuits (1961). ![]()
